"Attention is Devotion" Show in Jackson at Gallery Wild Went Great
We have returned from Jackson and my show at Gallery Wild and had a lovely time, and I was pleased with initial sales, and especially happy at how all of it looked hung up in the gallery. Again, kudos to the wonderful people at Gallery Wild for all their hard work, especially owner/artist Carrie Wild. We took a lovely walk inside Grand Teton National Park, skied at Jackson Hole, spent a lot of time in the hot tub of our hotel, and ended the trip at a favorite hot spring on the way home.
This is a quick post heavy on images rather than words so I can share images from the show. In case you are in Jackson, please stop in the gallery to check them out in person. I also really liked the gallery’s write up of my work, which I wanted to share here as well.
Bridgette Meinhold’s solo exhibition Attention is Devotion reflects on the increasingly fragile nature of attention in modern life and the quiet power of choosing where we place our focus. Inspired by her own reflections on distraction and creativity, Meinhold considers attention not as productivity, but as presence — asking both herself and viewers, “What are you devoted to?” For the artist, the answer returns again and again to making, observing, and engaging deeply with the world around her.
In her encaustic work, Meinhold builds her landscapes through layers of molten beeswax, pigment, and resin, fusing each surface with heat to create luminous depth and texture. The slow, tactile nature of the process mirrors her philosophy that “the whole point, for me at least, is simply to create.” Light settles within the wax rather than resting on its surface, allowing atmosphere to emerge gradually. Soft horizons, shifting weather, and expansive skies instinctively feel both immediate and meditative.
Attention is Devotion also showcases the introduction of cold wax medium into Meinhold’s creative practice. This departure from encaustic alone exemplifies her continued exploration of organic painting and atmospheric abstraction. This evolving approach allows for looser gestures, subtle transitions, pattern and texture. Across both mediums, her paintings become invitations to pause, offering viewers a sensory window through the gallery walls and into the crisp mountain air so deeply valued in the Mountain West.
Rooted in the belief that “attention is the beginning of devotion,” Meinhold’s work encourages a slower way of seeing; one grounded in curiosity, presence, and connection to the natural world. Gallery Wild warmly invites collectors and visitors to join us for an artist reception on Thursday, March 12th, to meet Bridgette Meinhold and share a moment of attention with her latest collection.

This looks amazing - such a beautiful space to show your work. It's been ages since I've been in Jackson, I probably wouldn't recognize it anymore. Wish you all best with your exhibit - may it bring more rainbows!
these look stunning. Congrats on getting it all together.
